         The Ukrainian Federal Credit Union supports the establishment of an Educational & Community Support Committee to assist the Board of Directors in reviewing requests for donations, scholarship and other community support and financial education projects to further branch and membership growth in accordance with goals and objectives adopted in the strategic plan of the Credit Union.

         In 2008 the Educational and Community Support Committee recommended that the board distribute $1,450 in donations.

          In June of 2008, the Board of Directors approved a revised policy for this committee.  One of the changes was that the committee would hold quarterly meetings to review donation and community support requests (meetings may be held electronically) and make recommendations to the board of directors.
          In 2008 there were 24 complete scholarship applications submitted for review.  The Scholarship Committee headed by Wolodymyr Butenko recommended that the board distribute $24,300.00 in scholarships.  Included in these scholarships were 3 new special designation scholarship awards named after the founding leaders of our Credit Union - William Andrushin, Esq., Bohdan Wenglowskyj, Esq and the Walter Hawrylak Memorial Scholarships.

                The Educational & Community Support Committee would like to thank the Branch Advisory Committees and the Scholarship Committees for their hard work and contributions to our Credit Union.
